From stillness into light
Halo of the Phoenix begins quietly, almost as if something is waiting beneath the surface. Little by little, the music opens, rises, and gathers warmth—like the slow return of light after darkness. Inspired by the image of the phoenix, this work is less about fire and spectacle, and more about renewal, awakening, and quiet strength. This multi-level arrangement makes it possible for mixed-level ensembles to perform the piece together while preserving the musical shape and expressive character of the original.
