Description
Elegy for String Orchestra was composed over the course of one year and completed in the summer of 2015. It was written in memory of the composer’s mother. The work follows the inner path of unexpected loss: shock, sorrow, anger, reflection, remembrance, and the gradual arrival of acceptance. Rather than remaining in grief alone, the music seeks the quiet hope that can emerge after suffering. Spanning approximately thirteen minutes, this is a substantial and deeply expressive concert work for ensembles prepared to explore emotional range, patience, and sustained musical storytelling.
